| "Tenuta Corlina e Mandorli" occupies an area totaling 700 hectares. Around 80 hectares are given over to the cultivation of vineyards for the production of Chianti DOCG wines. The estate also has 12.000 olive trees. From a careful selection of Sangiovese, Merlot and Syrah grapes, an I.G.T. (Indicazione Geografica Tipica) wine is produced called "Poggioaicozzi", which is aged for one year in "barriques" before bottling. The estate also produces a "Vin Santo del Chianti" fortified wine, following the traditional method which involves the natural raisining of the grapes, and the aging of the wine for at least three years in small kegs with a maximum capacity of 100 liters. As soon as the olives have been picked they are cold pressed in the estate's own oil mill. |
