Estensione: 200 Ha. di cui 46 Ha a vigneto e 15 Ha a oliveto
Historical background: the Sonnino-Family has owned the place for the last 200 years. Baron Sidney Sonnino was one of the most important promoters of quality production in agricuiture at the beginning of the last century. Afterwards the two wars and the crisis in agricuiture up to the seventies. About ten years ago the new beginning wirt new vineyards and innovation in the cellar.
Varietals pianted: Beside the traditional Chianti-varieties as Sangiovese and Caniolo we grow Merlot, Petit Verdot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Nero. The soft is typical Galestro (clay). The vineyards are on about 250 meter above sea level, exposed to south, south-west. 5000 vines per hectare. Harvest by hand. Green harvest in July. All the vineyards are situated around the estate. Only own grapes used for the production of the wines.
Production: All the wines are produced exclusively with grapes grown on the estate. The production in the vineyards respect the laws of "agricoltura integrata" and "lotta guidata".
